Lonnie Smith Sr. “DJ Lonnie B”

“DJ Lonnie B” Mr. Lonnie B. Smith Sr. was born on December 4, 1968 to the late Velma Tucker and Ernest Wade in St. Louis, Mo. He was preceded in death by his grandfather; Johnny Smith, grandmother; Minnie Gates, sisters; Camille and Velma Lee, one brother; Willie and a niece; Bernice. Mr. Lonnie B. Smith completed his high school education in District 189 and graduated from East St. Louis Sr. High School. Mr. Lonnie B. Smith was united in Holy Matrimony to Latonzia Ann Smith in 2015. She was by his side until the Lord called him home. He was a loving family man that was dedicated to providing for his family. Mr. Lonnie B. was a very well-known DJ for the past 32 years. He enjoyed and loved mentoring others and he was a well-educated engineer in his DJ career. He was also a member of the Derrty DJ organization and East Boogie Boys. On Wednesday May 17, 2017, Mr. Lonnie B. Smith was transitioned from earth to Glory. He was doing what he loved to do, which was fishing. DJ Lonnie leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife; Latonzia Ann Smith of Centreville, IL. , six sons; Demarcus Anderson of Belleville, IL., Lonnie(Laura) Smith Jr. of Belleville, IL., Kevin Clark Jr. of E. St. Louis, IL, Kalvin Clark of Centreville, IL., Kevion Winfield of Centreville, IL. and Demarius Jones of St. Louis, Mo. five daughters; Shanice(Joe) Johnson of E. St. Louis, IL. Brichae Cole of St. Louis, Mo. Kandance Smith of E. St. Louis, IL., Allonah Smith of Belleville, IL. and Akila(George)Hodges of Centreville, IL. one brother; William Smith of Caseyville, IL. three sisters; Pearline Smith of Belleville, IL. Minie Reliford and Chiquita Spencer. Twelve grandchildren. He also has many extended brothers; Daniel Williams, Julius Jackson, Gilardi Burns, Ian Bennett, Clarence young, Marcus Harris and Thearthur Yarbrough, just to name a few.
