Marilyn Yvette Gilmer was born in Saint louis, Missouri on September 17, 1948 to the union of Walter and Jeanette Brooks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, parents, and one sister, Janice Marie Brooks.
Marilyn confessed her belief in Christ and was a faithful member of Outreach Mission COGIC.
Marilyn attended East St. Louis School District 189. She graduated from Lincoln Sr. High school.
Marilyn married Ronald Gilmer, the love of her life after graduating high school. Marilyn worked at Barnes Hospital, Shriners’ Hospital, and retired from St. Marys Hospital in Clayton, Missouri.
Marilyn enjoyed her exercise class going five days a week,she made many friends. She faithfully attended the Cahokia Fitness Center, The JJK Healthy Steppers and stayed over to do line dance for more exercise. She loved to travel with family and talking on the phone. The sisters enjoyed NYC, Washington DC, Virginia, Las Vegas and Mackinac Island, Michigan.
On Wednesday, November 29, 2017 Marilyn departed this life. She leaves to cherish her memory, four sisters, Karen Yvonne (LC) Bass of Muskegon, Michigan, Alicia Sharpe of Washington, DC, Roz (James) Willis of Fairview Heights, Illinois and Deidre Brooks of East St. Louis, Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and the Outreach Mission Church Family.
