Mrs. Melanie Sherese Riddle-Johns was born August 8, 1968 in East St. Louis, IL. to the Union of Surlander Samuel-Riddle and Melvin Eugene Riddle. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Alanie Thomas and son, Montre Palmer and father, Melvin Eugene Riddle.
Melanie accepted Christ in her life at an early age.
She attended East St. Louis School District 189 and was dedicated to the Lincoln Tigers drill team. She worked at Hollywood Casino, in St. Louis, Missouri for 20 years on table games, that’s where she met her husband, Zachary Johns. Zach and Melanie were united in Holy Matrimony in August 2010 and to this union four beautiful daughters were born.
Melanie was a sweet, kind, loving, mother, sister, daughter and grandmother. She had a smile that would light up a room. She was loved by everyone. She enjoyed socializing. As a young child she enjoyed singing with her dad and sister. She loved spending time with family and friends, attending her son’s basketball games, graduations, and showing love to her children. She mastered her job at the Casino and didn’t mind helping others.
Melanie departed this life March 16, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
She leaves to cherish her love, her mother; Surlander Riddle of E. St. Louis, IL.; husband; Zachary Johns of St. Louis, MO. six sons; Demiriuas Thomas of E. St. Louis, IL. Latron Thomas of E. St. Louis, IL., DeVonte Thomas of Little Rock, Ark., Trevon Thomas of St. Louis, MO., Malik Davis of St. Louis, MO. and Antoin Wilson of E. St. Louis, IL.; ten daughters, India Riddle of St. Louis, MO., Rejene Thomas of Cahokia, IL. Jordan Thomas of E. St. Louis, IL., Jalah Davis of St. Louis, MO., Amber Wilson of E. St. Louis, IL., Jurnee Wilson of E. St. Louis, IL., Imagyn Johns, Trinity Johns, Zariah Johns and Envy Johns all of St. Louis, MO.; one brother, Orlando Riddle of St. Louis, MO. two sisters, Angela(Kevin)McGee-Riddle of Belleville, IL. and Rotessa Lewis of Milwaukee, WI.; six grandchildren a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew’s other relatives and friends.
