Michael Golliday

Michael Bernard Golliday was born March 9, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Hill and Dora Golliday. He renewed his faith in Christ in 2009 under Pastor Monty Weatherall. He was educated in school district 189 and later received his Associates Degree. He worked for the United Parcel Services (UPS) for 29 years until he retired in 2010. Michael loved joking and being around his family. He also enjoyed listening and attending jazz concerts but his true passion was caring for lawns and it would be “A Cut Above”. Michael loved hosting barbecues and fish fries for his family and friends. He was also known as “Papa Mike” to his grandchildren, uncle “Spud” to his nieces and nephews and had a laugh that would light up the room.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ruth Cook, brothers; Roscoe Golliday, Jimmy J. Golliday and Eddie Golliday.  He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife Paula Whitehead-Golliday of 15 years, 2 children from a previous marriage Gina Cabelle (Jared), Swansea, IL., Mica Golliday, Swansea, IL., 3 stepchildren: Anntwanette “Jena’ ” McCurtis, E. St. Louis, IL., DeShawn Brown, Shelby, NC., andCraig Whitehead, Orange, CA. Siblings: Ernie Mae Murray, Caseyville, IL., Mildred (Charles) Foote, Creve Coure ,MO., Rosie Shepherd, Jennings, MO., Jimmy Golliday, Belleville, IL., Wyvonia Golliday (sister-in-law) O’Fallon, IL., Irma Golliday (sister-in-law) Belleville, IL. Seven amazing grandchildren along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends who will miss him dearly.
