Ollie R. Tate (Ezell) was born August 22, 1935 in Blytheville, Arkansas to McKinley Ezell and Maggie Baker Ezell. She was preceded in death by both parents, one son, Ronald Tate, five brothers, Floyd Ezell, McKinley Ezell, Frank Ezell, Joe Ezell, Russell Ezell, and one sister, Louise (Punch) Ezell.
She confessed her hope in Christ at an early age while attending Greater New Hope Baptist Church in East St. Louis, Illinois.
Ollie attended school at Attucks Elementary and Hughes Quinn in East St. Louis School District 189. She graduated from Lincoln Senior High School in 1954. She furthered her education at State Community College where she received her Associates Degree in Nursing. She also worked at the Mental Health Center in East St. Louis, Illinois. Ollie taught at numerous schools in the East St. Louis School District 189. She loved working with her students.
Ollie loved sitting in her chair in front of the window. She really like doing word puzzles. Most of all she loved cooking, she was a great cook. She would always have a smile on her face whenever she was around her grandchildren. Ollie will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Ollie leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Charles (Sabrina Clemons) Tate Jr. of East St. Louis, IL., and Kenneth (Cornell) Tate of Fayetteville, NC; six grandchildren; seven great grand children, and one great-great grandson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
