Tommie Tharpe

Mr. Tommie Lee Tharpe passed away peacefully at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. at 6:30 p.m. at the age of 84yrs. old. He was born of the Union of John and Hattie Tharpe. Tommie was the third born of six children. Tommie went to school in Macon, Mississippi and moved here to E. St. Louis over 60 years ago. Tommie was a retiree of 35 years from District 189. Tommie loved and played sports until his eyesight left him. He still never missed listening to all sports on television. We loved you Tommie and your presence will be missed. Tommie is survived by his son; Victor Chamberlain, brother; Stacy (Helen) Harden Sr. nephew; Stacy Harden Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
